I went back to K-ZO last Friday, and had the best popcorn shrimp ever! Very hot, super crispy, with an almost creamy shrimp inside. They do not offer the combo plates at dinner, they offer sushi and hot and cold appetizers. They also have two prix fixe menus. I also overheard someone say the owner/chef used to work at Sushi Roku. Go check it out and tell me what you think.

Hi Bree,
I have been following your blog for a few weeks now. I'm so happy to see that CC is on the map. Of course, I live here and an constantly trying to convince folks, like the LA Times claimed last year, "There is something happening in Culver City."
I enjoy reading your reviews. I went to K-Zo last Friday with my fiance based on your review. We loved the decor (he's an architect-he's always looking at the space). We didn't sample nearly as much as you did. It's a little expensive for my taste. I thought the food was pretty good. The service wasn't. We waited about 30 minutes to get our check! Growing pains I guess. Anyway, I would like to recommend Sushi Karen if you haven't been there. Their prices are good, the ambiance is low key and the food is excellent. Try the Amberjack.
Also, I have been a regular at Metro since they opened. I framed those circus posters for the boys. They use to be just stuck to the wall. It would be nice if they would show artist' work in there.
FYI, Tlapozola Grill on Gateway is the best Mexican I can find anywhere on the westside. In case you need a recommendation for your next review. ;)
