Father's Office is Open!

The second location for Father's Office officially opened Monday, April 21. They have the same menu as the first location, but they have a liquor license now so you can also get the hard stuff. The wine list was rather lacking. They only have about 6 Californian wines. Hopefully, they will add more, but they have a tremendous amount of beer on tap. This location is bigger and hipper than the Montana place and I think I even got a smile and a slight giggle out of the bar tender, while at the other location you're lucky if they make eye contact. They open at 5pm and when we left at 7:30 there was a line of people outside being let in slowly by a host on a Tuesday night. I recommend getting there early. (Senorita W posting for Triplecreme)

Vinoteque

While Triplecreme is in Rome, she asked a few of her friends to be guest bloggers as many new places are opening while she is gone. Last weekend a few of us checked out the new wine bar called Vinotéque. One of the owners is from Bottle Rock in Culver City so we knew the wine selection was going to be good. The décor was comfy with short sofas and a piano on one side of the bar. There was a pianist playing covers and it was fun to see who could figure out what song he was playing in the fewest cords. Well, I am sure that you want the low-down on the food and wine. It was a warm evening and the red wine was chilled to the perfect temperature—room temp would have been way too warm. We tried four or five different ones and they were all excellent. The food was made up of small plates and generally good, but small things were off like we ordered the spring onion appetizer with romesco sauce that sounded a lot like the Catalan dish Calçot, but they prepared it with what looked more like leeks rather than spring onions. It was still tasty just not what we were expecting. The blue cheese-stuffed, bacon-wrapped dates were mouth watering. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and we will go back again when Bree gets back into town. Thanks for reading! Senorita W

Off to Rome

This weekend I am jetting off to The Eternal City for 5 long weeks of La Dolce Vita! The next month will be full of language classes, Caravaggio, Bernini, vino, gelato, espresso, mozzarella, prociutto, grappa, Vespas, cute Italian men and cacio e pepe!
