The Curious Palate
The Curious Palate opened a few days ago in Mar Vista - a welcome reprieve from all the taquerias in the area. It is a cozy little cafe/gourmet shop/take-out deli with a small seasonal menu including sandwiches (I had a prosciutto panini),
salads, soups, sides and daily hot plate specials like these braised short ribs with Isreali couscous.
They also have a deli case of meats olives cheese, etc., making it a convienient stop for Mar Visians for some gourmet snacks (and they serve my fave coffee, Intelligentsia).

Love this place!
NYC Drew
I just tried this place on Sunday after tasting one of their potato pancakes at the Mar Vista Farmers Market. I found the food decent, but too expensive considering they don't even include a side dish with a $10 sandwich. I left hungry. Thanks for the tip on the coffee. I will try that next time.
Yeah! Intelligentsia in Mar Vista.
The Venice-ization of the MV continues.
Just tried this place out for lunch today. I was very inspired by the local produce and sustainable interior architecture. I found the food was delicious! Yes the sandwich was $10. But i thought it was worth every penny and quite enough food for me. You gotta pay a little extra sometimes for gourmet, local, and sustainable quality.
Went in today to see what was up with this new place. It was a pleasure to see that the neighbor hood is starting to get it right. I had there Egg Salad It was great I loved the Guanciale crumbled on top, It gave it a wounderful flavor and texture. The side of mac and cheese was the best. I will be back.
I went to The Curious Palate for the first time last night. I bought several cheeses (including Burrata), a salami, olives, bagette and what turned out to be the best bresaola I've ever had. Everything was incredibly delicious. Can't wait to go back. Love this place!!
Ahh, my best-kept secret is out! I stopped by the place not long after they opened, found out they sell Intelligentsia beans, and freaked out. My ritual with them is to go in for the whole beans (and chocolate and cheese and butter while I'm at it), then stay for lunch. It's such a treat.
